Primary Responsibilities:

  • Independently operating ultrasound equipment to produce images that are of diagnostic quality evaluating the acquired images and communicating findings with a radiologist(s) and / or medical professional(s)
  • Expected to effectively work with the imaging team by managing the ultrasound schedule, report equipment failures, perform appropriate QA procedures, and practicing a high level of medical ethics.
  • Ensures test results by selecting transducer; making equipment adjustments according to nature of test, depth of field and other specifications of test
  • Conducts test procedures by moving transducer by hand over specified area of body; monitoring movement on display screen
  • Ensuresthe ultrasound images produced, stored and reported are of high diagnostic quality
  • Maintains equipment and software by following operating instructions; performing quality control checks of sonographic equipment; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance procedures; backing up computer software and data; calling for repairs and information technology support
  • Maintains quality results by establishing, following, and enforcing imaging department standards
  • Enhances sonography and company reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Conducts themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times with coworkers, patients, physicians, vendors, and others
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or graduate from an ultrasound program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
  • Current certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in specialties that is appropriate
  • BLS certified or willing to obtain upon hire
  • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive VoiceResponse (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
  • You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or other health-related degree
  • Experienced technologist
