Sodexo is seeking a Unit Safety Manager 2 (Site Safety and Health Officer - SSHO) for a new Facilities Maintenance contract at a Medical Center located near St. Louis, MO  The Unit Safety Manager will be responsible for site and health safety, quality control, quality assurance, mandatory reporting, inspections, training, etc. at the main medical center and it's surround facilities totaling approximately 400K sf.  

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • OSHA 30-hour training certificate or training card.2. Resume or certificates demonstrating, for a minimum of the last five (5) years, has maintained competencies through 8-hours of formal safety and health related training per year.3. Resume demonstrating five (5) years of continuous safety experience in supervising or managing general industry/construction/O&M, including managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls.4. Evidence of training shall be maintained on site and made available to the client immediately upon request.
  • Working experience with NFPA, EPA, TJC, OSHA codes and standards.
  • Experience with The Joint Commission compliance and requirements for Environment of Care (EOC) and Life Safety (LS) compliance, as required for healthcare facilities, is desirable.
  • Experience in a government health care environment is desirable.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

    Key member of local leadership team managing all Quality Assurance, Food, Physical and or Environmental Safety Programs for a specific portfolio of business at multiple locations associated with a global account portfolio.  Provides HS&E expertise on new account due diligence; transition and stabilization phases. Initiate plans and manages resources to ensure efficient and cost-effective strategies for occupational health, safety and environmental performance, in addition to partnering with leadership to instil an operational excellence culture.

    Position Summary

    The primary purpose of this role is to ensure a safe work environment at client sites by providing HS&E and/or Quality Assurance consultation. This role drives a safety culture at the site level. This position is responsible for ensuring the implementation and compliance with North American and client safety guidelines. Ensures legal compliance to all Federal (Provincial), State and Local regulations.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associates Degree or equivalent experience
