US Market Transportation Summer Intern

Pfizer's Global Supply (PGS) University Talent Program offers summer internships that cross over all facets of the business. The Global Supply Chain US Market Transportation team is responsible for managing the movement of finished goods for all Pfizer Business Units within the US. The Market Transport team works with many groups within PGS (Pfizer manufacturing facilities, Global External Supply facilities, Pfizer Logistics Centers, LSP's) and supports many teams/programs outside of PGS (Quality Operations, sales samples, philanthropy programs, Commercial teams). Our summer interns will work in conjunction with these areas on challenging assignments and projects that will stimulate creative problem-solving and collaborative leadership, while contributing to the overall goal of bringing quality life-saving medicines to patients around the world. The individual selected for this role work remotely with possible travel to the Pfizer Logistic Centers located in Memphis, TN and Pleasant Prairie, WI.


A summer intern can expect to join a team that fits well with their field of study and interests within supply chain and business analytics. Summer interns can expect challenging assignments with the opportunity to apply knowledge and gain work experience within a professional environment. In addition to their assigned project, interns can expect opportunities to participate in group social and developmental learning activities throughout the summer. Core responsibilities are as follows:

+ Perform challenging, demanding and diverse assignments respective to the role and projects within their assigned area.

+ Creating, running and analyzing US transportation data

+ Utilizing various Pfizer data repositories, carriers track and trace systems, and various transportation management systems

+ Assist in data analytics and process improvement initiatives

+ Monitoring on-time delivery and reporting daily to Pfizer GSC LT

+ Aiding in the collection and consolidation of various budget numbers and Latest Estimates

+ Communicating with carriers and enabling functions on a daily basis

+ Supporting COVID 19 operations, carrier relationship management, transportation systems, and freight audit and pay activities

+ Participate and run transportation continuous improvement projects

+ Perform other related duties as assigned or required.


+ Completed Junior year in a College or University studying applicable coursework (business, supply chain, industrial engineering, business analytics). Undergraduate and Master students going into their senior year of study preferred.

+ Strong academic performance (a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher preferred)

+ Self-motivated, with the ability to be agile and adaptable in a fast pace environment.

+ Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven track record of teamwork, innovation and initiative

+ Strong organizational skills

+ Capacity to quickly identify problems and create solutions

+ Highly effective in communicating in written, verbal, and presentation form

+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

+ Passion for learning and pursuing a career in supply chain industry
