Unit Description

Sodexo Government is seeking an enthusiastic team member to lead the marketing & brand communications for our Government business segment worldwide.

 

This position, the Vice President, Marketing & Brand Communications will have dual reporting relationship to our CEO, Global Government & Agencies (located in Australia) and the Sr. VP Brand & Communications for North America (located in the U.S.)

 

The position will be a virtual role with a preference of location of the West Coast, Southern California area or the East Coast, Mid-Atlantic region.  While this position supports the business we have world wide it will be located in the United States, not abroad.

 

As you consider the position, note that the business hours required for the role will need to be flexible as our portfolio spans the globe and will not yield to the U.S. hours of operation solely.  We have business in UK & Ireland, Australia, etc. 

 

This leadership role will be accountable for the:

  • Successful delivery of the segment strategy; development and growth rate of the segment
  • Successful realization of segment Communication plan
  • Full compliance in the segment with global Communication priorities  

Demonstrated Competencies of the following required:

  • Understanding of the business challenges of the segment and willingness to support business objectives and growth, 
  • Proven successful experience in a communications generalist role,
  • Extensive experience with digital channels and digital content creation in telling company-/brand-/issue-stories.
  • Strong partnering capabilities, ease and credibility to act and influence as a member of a global senior leadership team,
  • Relevant experience with leading robust issues management / crisis communications work,
  • Good knowledge of brand positioning and the diverse ways to engage major stakeholders: employees, clients, customers and opinion leaders,
  • Dual capability to contribute to strategic analysis and implementation of concrete and operational action plans in the various domains of communication,
  • Ability to lead transversal projects and teams across cultures,
  • Flexible and pragmatic, resilient and able to deal with complexity, comfort in working in a matrix organization,
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal and presentation skills,
  • Collaborative approach to work, resilient and positive. 

Experience:

  • More than 15 years related professional experience in Communications,
  • Good understanding of the specifies of working with Public decision makers/ Political environment
  • Global mindset, international experience a must have, experience in working with diverse cultures
  • Fluent English oral and written, any other language skills a plus.

Main Prorities for the  VP, Brand & Communications:

 

Enable segment performance and support the segments business strategy:

§   Contribute to the development and delivery of the global segment strategy as a member of the Global Segment Executive Committee to support the attainment of business objectives

§   Advise and support the global segment leadership team on matters relating to Communications

§   Develop and deliver the comms strategy plan for the segment

 

Contribute to delivering the overall mission of the segments communications needs :

§   Raise awareness of Sodexo; enhance and protect its reputation around the world as the leader in Quality of Life Services, specifically as it relates to the segment.

§   Build emotional connections with all of our stakeholders, particularly with clients, consumers, employees in order to\u2026\u2026..

§   Lead and support in crisis situation

§   As a member of the Communications Leadership Team, provide input to the Communication strategy and associated global frameworks, guidelines and processes

Compensation 140,000 to 180,000

 

 

Position Summary

The purpose of the role is to:

  • Support business objectives and enhance and protect the reputation of the segment, both globally and within North America  
  • Develop and oversee the delivery of an effective communications strategy for the segment, creating awareness externally with key stakeholders and engagement internally with employees
  • Ensure alignment with global Brand and Communications priorities and relevant segment marketing groups
  • Contribute to Global segment strategy and direction-setting and support regions in the delivery of their plans

The role is accountable for:

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 10 years managerial experience

Basic Functional Experience - 10 years relevant work experience
