VP Product Development -- MAS & Canada

  • The VP Product Development is responsible for helping to formulate strategy and leading product/program and project management activities for ADP's Major Accounts Canada organization.
  • This role works directly with general managers, division vice presidents and IT senior leadership across Employer Services to ensure vision/strategy and product roadmap initiatives are delivered on time and on budget. Also responsible for working closely with product management.
  • Requires strong leadership influence, executive level presence, ability to lead change, business/finance acumen, and demonstrated ability to lead multi-million dollar initiatives.
  • Responsible for working closely with IT and third party vendors executing software development lifecycles, leveraging best practices and agile methodologies. Also partners closely with India development team.
  • This role is responsible for leadership and development of direct reports into product and business subject matter experts to effectively support clients, systems and applications is a primary responsibility.


  • Develops comprehensive projects plans and executes against roadmap initiatives to achieve ultimate effectiveness and improve the core business growth.
  • Responsible for establishing agile best practices and implementing best of breed project lifecycle methodologies.
  • Act as executive leader driving key strategic initiatives, by engaging the business, IT, Product Management and Marketing to ensure a consistent level of understanding is provided.
  • Create and distributes regular executive level communications and key milestone achievements on related projects
  • Influence executive level decision makers to secure the support necessary to successfully deploy key directives and initiatives on schedule and on budget.
  • Effectively assess risk and BU impacts and provide timely communication along with mitigation steps and resolution timeframes to respective executive leadership.
  • Identifies, recommends and compiles required metrics in support of budgeting and investment requirements for related initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain master project plan that consolidates all product integration projects across the enterprise to ensure consistency with business strategy and product roadmaps.
  • Ability to create and manage a budget and staffing plan.


  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics preferred. . 2-5 years experience in Sr. leadership capacity. Experience working with several lines of business (operations, service, implementation, etc.) is ideal. Demonstrated ability to lead multi-million dollar initiatives from inception to implementation.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and have a strong understanding of the existing technology landscape along with new and emerging technologies, as well as, Business Process improvements and Change Management.
  • Must possess excellent executive level communication, presentation and negotiation skills and recognized organizational savvy. Superb organizational and time management skills for managing multiple, diverse and conflicting activities and senior leaders as required.
  • Must be able to interface with and influence key internal stakeholders, as well as interact effectively with C-level client contacts and third party vendor executives
  • Proven ability to drive decisions and actions among diverse groups to achieve goals.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, benchmarking and statistical skills
  • Experience leadership capable of building a strong cross business unit team that can achieve the highest standards of performance.
