Job Description

The Traffic Manager is primarily responsible for people and team development, cost parameters, and service to customers (internal and external). You will be trained in Frito-Lay's distribution, manufacturing, and sales operations processes while assisting team members in solving problems and improving performance. While an initial assignment may be in Logistics, subsequent assignments may be across Manufacturing, Distribution, and Sales Operations organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network with Frito-Lay and other common carrier traffic centers
  • Perform trade-off analysis of common carrier/internal fleet
  • Manage support staff responsible for driver dispatch, computerized tracking of driver logs and other administrative functions
  • Backhaul revenue generation
  • Interface with product direct delivery customers, vend customers and Frito-Lay sales associates
  • Motivate team members to achieve plan goals
  • Develop team to solve own day-to-day operational issues
  • Administer policies and practices
  • Conduct presentations and formal training programs


  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Progressive industry experience in a logistics, distribution or transportation management role
  • Demonstrated people and leadership skills
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team-building skills
  • Analytical/persuasive skills
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
