**ROLE SUMMARY**

The Warehouse Manager position is responsible for the daily operation of the distribution center and oversees departmental personnel and assets to ensure compliance with regulatory/corporate /department guidelines, training, and performance objectives. Under minimal guidance from the Distribution Center Operations Director, the Warehouse Manager is responsibilities include: Oversee and direct the workflow of up to 50 hourly employees through various jobs (i.e., Non-Exempt Supervisors, Group Leaders, Specialists, and Warehouse Servicers). Monitor all system processes by utilizing SAP. Daily interface and problem solving with multiple internal and external logistic groups, receiving, inventory control, transportation, freight forwarders, maintenance personnel, and vendors. Train and develop departmental employees to achieve high-performance standards. Counsel (verbal and written) departmental employees as required. Process time reporting and resolve payroll discrepancies. Conduct and/or facilitate shift communication meetings. Sponsor/Advise departmental teams. Actively provide direction, support, and motivation to facilitate team progression. Monitor, tabulate, and report department performance by accessing information from daily and weekly files. Manage freight consolidation programs to achieve the lowest possible freight cost consistent with established goals and objectives. Conduct operational performance and safety audits. Participate in process improvement with meetings upper management, freight carriers, transportation, logistics, and customer service. Manage and/or organize miscellaneous project work. Conduct annual performance reviews with Pfizer personnel. Conduct the appraisal interview and assist the employee in the creation of his/her developmental plan. Deliver presentations to management, peers, and/or subordinates within and/or outside the department.



This position requires integrating knowledge of current industry technologies with a broad understanding of client requirements. Ensure GMP systems and programs are in a constant state of compliance. Maintain Pfizer and industry standards. Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to work with individuals with varying levels. This position requires good time management skills, the ability to work on multiple projects at a time, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Minitab, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio).



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**

Major responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager include:



+ Oversee and direct the workflow of up to 50 hourly employees through various jobs including scheduling and distributing work assignments accordingly.

+ Maintains current knowledge and adheres to all cGMP, FDA guidelines and laws, and corporate expectations.

+ Define and explain opportunities for improvement for team members including conducting annual performance reviews with personnel.

+ Assist in completing investigations and developing solutions.

+ Identify and report Safety concerns including working safely while performing daily tasks.

+ Continually seek out methods to improve customer service by identifying new processes, procedures, and systems.

+ Assist fellow Distribution Management Team on special projects/assignments.

+ Drive continuous improvement in all facets of the operation (safety, quality, cost, service)



**QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Adult education, Instructional design, Organizational/Operations Management, Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Business or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

+ Five or more years in distribution/logistics, training, supply chain, transportation leadership experience.

+ Three or more years working and influencing in a matrix environment with exempt and non-exempt personnel.

+ Knowledge of the Learning management systems, GMP / EH&S compliance training, logistics operations training, human performance training, and LEAN methodologies.

+ Strong PC skills required (Minitab, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio).

+ Proven ability to work in a complex matrix organization with demonstrated knowledge of logistics services.

+ Incumbent must poses strong technical/analytical skills and good business sense, strong teamwork orientation required.

+ Ability to work effectively in an environment of constant change.

+ Motivated individual with strong self-directed capabilities as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.

+ Knowledge of logistics systems warehousing, order-fulfillment, customer services, and project management practices and integrated supply chain management is highly desirable.

+ Knowledge of Operational Excellence methodologies/tools. Lean / Six Sigma certified is a plus

+ Experience with SAP preferred.



**PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**

Colleague will be working in a professional office environment with regular periodic visits to the warehouse. Long hours spent sitting, standing, and walking on concrete on the Warehouse floor. Some lifting of packages of up to 40 lbs. may be required on occasion.



**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**

Non-standard work hours are required per business support needs. The position requires on-call availability on occasion. This includes evenings and weekends and the occasional weekend. Travel for meetings and training as required .



**ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS**

This position interacts with varying levels of management and colleagues. There will also be opportunities to work with 3rd party vendors.
