Windows VMware System Administrator

System Administrators are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. As a System Admin with IBM, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of, and access to, our most important resource: data.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Technical Experience
- Able to support and administer windows 2008, 2012 and 2016 versions. This includes server provisioning/decommissioning of servers,
- Troubleshooting daily BAU issues including sev1 & sev2 and maintenance tasks such as patching, OS hardening and tools updates/upgrades
- Able to manage and provide support on VMware VSphere client. Daily tasks includes provisioning virtual machines and storage LUNs, Disk utilization housekeeping (deleting snapshots), perform vmotion activities and etc.
- Performance troubleshooting, upgrading VMtools and ESXi patch updates
- Knowledge on VDI Horizon desktops and Web which includes provisioning new virtual desktops, applications/programs and daily maintenance/monitoring jobs
- Advanced knowledge on any 2 of the following Microsoft Components :
i) Active Directory
ii) Sharepoint
iii) Windows Clustering
iv) File Servers
v) Windows NLB
- Advanced knowledge on any of the following middleware webhosting tools :
i) Websphere
ii) IIS
iii) JBOSS/ Tomcat
- Familiar with any 2 of the following tools :
i) Tectia
ii) Citrix
iii) BigFix
iv) Netbackup
- Sound knowledge in ITIL process for Incident, Change and Problem management.
- Exprience in performing datacenter migration for servers and applications
- Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and maintain standard operating procedures for software upgrades, patching, and other tasks within the scope based on IBM standards

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Required Experience
- Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
- Work with other support teams to assist in project activities and tasks
- Individual must be customer oriented, focused on solutions through teamwork.
- Expectations of occasional requirements beyond regular office hours and weekends
- Willing to support an On Call on rotational basis.
- Serves as a mentor and provides guidance and training to other team members
- Must be able to learn and adopt current processes and adopt and improve on Standards of Procedures.
- Detail oriented with ability to make sound decisions and work within change control system.
- Good communicator, verbally and written, able to interact with internal and external teams to understand requirements and provide knowledgeable feedback

- Preferbaly someone with MCSA or MCSE, VCP6 certification
- ITIL v3 certified
- Other relevant certifications
